The Accounting Specialist is expected to deliver correct and timely products, reports, and general financial information as part of a total process within the accounting department. The Accounting Specialist processes payroll paperwork, commercial card reporting, ensures the accurate and timely billing of assigned plans and all other duties as assigned and as required by the department to provide exceptional service to our internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

Commercial Card Expense Reporting - for assigned companies

* Commercial card expense reporting management
* Successful monitoring of commercial cards. This includes ordering new cards for any new Administrative hires

Payroll

* Processes payroll paperwork, including setting up new employees in multiple databases, termination of employees, data entry, generates direct deposit
* Payroll data entry and HR new hire paperwork


* Pull reports within Great Plains and Kronos



Accounts Payable

* Assist the Accounts Payable Controller in mailing out checks and filing after AP is processed if needed

Billing of Assigned Accounts

* Creates the charges for assigned programs and assures that charges are booked accurately
* Audits accounts as necessary to assure accurate billing and rebilling on assigned accounts
* Spools assigned billing information to the Medicaid web portal and initiates electronic transmissions
* Processes statements and mails in a timely manner
* Adjust patient bills as needed
* Weekly Cash Flow Analysis



Qualifications

* Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field preferred
* 1-3 years of experience in an Accounting role that includes payroll, accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting
* exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage large amounts of data accurately and efficiently
* strong communication skills and the ability to interact successfully with internal and external customers by telephone, written correspondence, email and in person
