PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Plant Controller provides financial leadership to a manufacturing facility(s). This position will be accountable for driving results to the segment manufacturing financial leader. The Plant Controller will be responsible for maintaining a control environment that complies with the Company's internal control policies and Sarbanes Oxley.

The Plant Controller is expected to be a dynamic leader on the plant leadership team by contributing to all areas of plant management. The position is an important part of the financial talent pipeline and serves as a feeder for larger plants as well as corporate roles (i.e. Mfg Financial Leader, Segment Analyst, etc.). This individual will also be responsible for leadership of non-financial plant administrative processes such as sourcing and warehouse (raw materials).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.

  • Practices safe work activities and leads RIR to 0.
  • Participates in plant safety programs.
  • Operations Planning
    • Participates in the development of operational objectives for the plant that are aligned to Corporate and Division strategic objectives
    • Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure facility financial results and shareholder value is optimized.

      • Operating rhythm and cadence in place and being followed
      • Operations Plans executed
      • Process expectations and timing
        2. Financial and Operational Controls
        • Ensures that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including; data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.)
        • Drives a robust representation letter process that provides assurance and visibility to a sound internal control environment.
        • Leads the Continuous Sign-off process to ensure that accountability for internal controls is clear and that processes are documented. Metrics

            • Leads financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
            • Prepares and delivers the plant financial forecasts and projections
            • Monitors the plant's monthly closing process in conjunction with the Accounting team
            • Communicates results effectively to management and non-financial personnel
            • Provides in-depth analysis on variances to plan and forecast
            • Provides risk analysis for contingency planning Metrics

                • Leads actions in line with achieving targets, mitigating risk and prioritizing resource needs
                • Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure facility financial results and shareholder value is optimized.

                    • Shares best practices across division, i.e, process improvements, financial modeling and procedures changes.
                    • Aligns teams and resources in order to solve problems and drive results-actively participates in daily management meetings for same.
                    • Provides active support of TPM efforts plant-wide and formally serves as Office Pillar Leader
                    • Leading and developing talent
                      • Creates an environment where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation systems and stretching capabilities of employees.
                      • Acts as a resource to the non-financial leaders of the business providing education and training on the key principles of Finance
                      • Ensures individual development and succession plans exist for direct reports Metrics

                        • Plant process and administrative leadership
                          • Leads non-financial plant administrative processes for sourcing and warehouse (raw materials).

                            JOB REQUIREMENTS

                            MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
                            • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or relevant discipline required. MBA, CMA, CPA preferred.
                              EXPERIENCE :
                              • Providing leadership to organizations within a manufacturing operation(s)-leading operations planning, savings, forecasting and investment analysis
                              • Operating in a range of economic conditions, i.e. expansion, contraction, stable economic conditions-forecasting, scenario planning, risk analysis and contingency development.
                              • Delivering continuous improvement.
                              • Participating in the development of strategic plans.
                              • Negotiating, developing and evaluating customer and supplier contracts
                              • Attracting, developing and retaining outstanding talent-growing talent and succession planning.
                              • Demonstrated high growth in previous experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
                                • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance and manufacturing costing principles-understands P&L and balance sheet dynamics
                                • Demonstrated ability to teach and communicate in simple, impacting terms
                                • Demonstrated ability to manage and control costs-effectively develops business cases and enroll leaders at all levels in taking appropriate action.
                                • Demonstrated ability to develop and intimate knowledge of customers, competition, and the market and uses this knowledge to drive customer and product profitability decisions.
