Required Qualifications: - Must Possess a High School Diploma/GED - 3 years of practical working experience in the HVAC Industry - Ability to enter into the Union Apprentice Program or currently enrolled - Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50lbs, climb a ladder and work on rooftops - Ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat for extended period of times - Must Possess and maintain valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier - Ability to join the union apprentice program, or currently be enrolled Essential Task Description: (daily tasks and duties) - Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation - Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units - Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions - Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment; calibrate thermostatic controls - Install new heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation and air-conditioning parts and equipment; repair or replace low- and high-pressure liquid lines - Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of unit and make necessary adjustment; inspect and service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps - Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems - Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; cleans coils, blowers, checks motors, and belt tensions - Assemble and install metal ductwork - Assist in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems - Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations - Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required - Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely - Work to mitigate potential risks associated with essential duties - Collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environments Knowledge of: - Principles and practices of Heating, Venting, Air Conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and repair; hazard and safety practices common to the trade - HVAC controls and safety devices; appropriate Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) / chemical usages; tools of the trade; materials and refrigerant recovery equipment and procedures used in installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC systems - Computerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate to air-conditioning, heating, ventilating, and refrigerated cooling - Sheet metal, electrical, plumbing and carpentry - Basic understanding of building automation controls RSRCAR Li-OnSite Carrier is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
