Responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting plumbing issues, operating electric snakes to unclog floor drains and drainage systems, and selecting proper tools and equipment for each task. The position requires working knowledge of commercial plumbing practices, basic electrical skills related to plumbing systems, and the ability to maintain mechanical rooms through housekeeping and painting tasks. For information about ABM’s benefits, visit ABM Employee Benefits | Front Line Team Members | (Programa de Beneficios de ABM) \n \n Essential Functions \n \n Operate electric snakes and drain cleaning equipment \n Unclog floor drains, sinks, and other drainage systems \n Clear blockages in water and waste lines \n Inspect drainage systems for proper function \n Diagnoses and resolves minor plumbing issues including equipment repair and replacement \n Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unclogging toilets, sinks, and urinals, repairing water leaks, fixing faucets, and servicing water fountains \n Completes scheduled preventive maintenance and responds to reactive maintenance requests \n Maintains cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms and related equipment areas \n Installs, repairs, and maintains pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and plumbing fixtures throughout the facility \n Services and installs water, air, steam, and sewage systems facility-wide \n Responds promptly to plumbing emergencies, diagnoses problems, and implements solutions \n Conducts routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems to ensure proper operation \n Works safely at various heights for extended periods as required \n Climbs ladders of various sizes and types safely and regularly \n Operates aerial lifts including scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other mechanical lifting equipment \n Performs additional duties as assigned \n \n \n Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements \n \n High school diploma or GED equivalent required \n Minimum 3-5 years of combined plumbing and pipefitting experience in commercial or industrial environments \n Knowledge of standard gas, plumbing, and building codes \n Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, technical sketches, and repair manuals \n Must be legally authorized to work in the United States \n \n \n A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
