communitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvides in-service
education to staff based on the organizations guidelines, state and
federal requirements (i.e. quality assurance reports, survey
reports, consultant reports, etc.).Maintains records of in-service
programs and those in attendance.Provides in-service education to
nursing assistants.Manages the Nurse Aide Training Program, if
applicable.Maintains individual records of each associates
attendance at required in-services.Prepares lesson plans containing
objectives, course contents, method of instruction for each class
scheduled and completed.Notifies associate's immediate supervisor
when associate fails to attend required in-services.Prepares an
annual schedule of planned in-service programs.Posts a monthly
calendar of each in-service program in a timely manner.Maintains
current in-service record of classes held and clinical performances
of each nursing assistant.Assists CNA's with recertification forms
and updates.Maintains an education profile for each Certified
Nursing Assistant, listing each class attended, date, time period
and evaluation of performance.May be required to train or
coordinate certified training programs for Food Services,
Housekeeping and Laundry.May be required to provide orientation
training for new hires.May be required to verify reference checks
on associates.May be required to assist in paper work for
background checks and drug screens.May be required to serve on
Quality Assurance Committee, Safety Committee and Infection Control
Committee.May be required to implement Quality Assurance forms as
needed.May be required to monitor Quality Assurance forms for
departments.May be required to maintain TB updates and Hepatitis B
updates on associates.Supervises classroom and clinical activities
of nursing assistants.Schedules testing of Nurse Aide Training
graduates.May be required to provide in-service education.May be
required to participate in the associate's evaluation process by
providing attendance records and observation of nursing
performances to the Director of Nursing.Operates the education
department program within the budget guidelines.Promotes the image
and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and
providing direct and open lines of communication.Contributes to the
work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other
collaborative efforts of the System.Performs other duties as
necessary to ensure the success of the System.SKILLS AND
ABILITIESProficient in using a computer, especially Microsoft
Office, Excel and Power Point.Excellent organizational and
prioritizing skills requiredEffective and professional verbal, and
written communication skillsCommunicates well with other
associates, patients, family members, and visitors providing warm
and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude. Responds to
expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor,
answers questions when appropriate in a professional manner.MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONSNursing Degree from an accredited college or
university or is a graduate of an approved LPN program.An active
LPN License to practice in the State of GeorgiaSUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIESNone.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret
documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before
groups of customers or associates of the organization.MATHEMATICAL
SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense
understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral
or diagram format. The ability to deal with problems involving
several concrete variables in standardized situations.COMPUTER
