Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available for K-12 education in North Charleston, SC. This role involves providing onsite, one-on-one interpretation services for two high school studentsone in 9th grade and the other in 11th grade. The position is contracted for the current school year (CSY). Key Responsibilities: Deliver clear and accurate sign language interpretation in a one-on-one educational setting. Support effective communication between the students and their teachers, peers, and staff. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions. Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance the learning experience. Adhere to the school's policies and procedures to foster an inclusive environment. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors degree required. Previous experience in K-12 educational settings preferred. Knowledge and skills in sign language interpretation, especially within a school context. 3.5 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work onsite full time to support student needs. Location and Work Environment: Position located in North Charleston, SC. Onsite work in a structured K-12 school environment.
