Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher
of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the
Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet
these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time teaching
opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
(TVI) to support K-12 students within an itinerant role serving
elementary and middle school levels. This position offers a
contract through the current school year, providing 37.5 hours per
week of impactful educational service. Location: Ridgeland, SC area
Job Duration: Contract through current school year (ASAP 6/1/26)
Caseload: Approximately 10 students Responsibilities: - Deliver
specialized instruction to students with visual impairments,
adapting lessons to meet individual needs - Collaborate with school
staff, families, and other professionals to develop and implement
individualized education plans (IEPs) - Monitor student progress
and adjust teaching strategies accordingly - Provide consultative
support and training to teachers and staff regarding vision
impairment and accessibility - Conduct assessments and maintain
thorough documentation in compliance with educational standards
Qualifications: - Certification as a Teacher of the Visually
Impaired (TVI) - Experience working with K-12 students in a school
setting, preferably in an itinerant model - Strong understanding of
visual impairment-related instructional strategies and assistive
technology - Effective communication and collaboration skills with
students, families, and school personnel - Ability to manage a
caseload of approximately 10 students independently Benefits and
