A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year, serving students in K-12 settings across two schools in Charleston, SC. This contract role runs from ASAP until May 29, 2026, with a Monday through Friday schedule. The position requires placement at Liberty Hill Academy and Ladson Elementary School. At Liberty Hill Academy, the focus is on teaching students with intellectual disabilities and autism in a challenging classroom environment. Support staff include a teaching assistant, a registered behavior technician (RBT), and an on-campus Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Ladson Elementary requires resource teaching support. Both schools serve a diverse student age group within the special education spectrum. Key qualifications for this role include: - Active South Carolina state licensure for Special Education, with a multi-categorical license preferred - Experience supporting students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and managing challenging behaviors - Ability to work collaboratively with behavior specialists and support staff - Strong commitment to creating inclusive, individualized educational plans Responsibilities include developing and implementing tailored instructional strategies, managing classroom behaviors, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining compliance with educational standards for special education.
