We are looking for a dedicated Phlebotomy Coordinator like you to
be a part of our team.Job Summary and QualificationsThe Phlebotomy
Coordinator assists the Phlebotomy Supervisor, Manager and
Administrative Director of the department with the day to day
operations within the Phlebotomy Department. This includes
assisting with employee schedules, collecting blood, working
variable shifts as needed, training staff, monitoring attendance,
assisting with day to day duties as assigned, monitoring inventory,
and other duties as assigned.Complies with the Memorial Health
Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of
Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual
non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting
mechanisms.Essential Job Functions:1. Supports Managers and
Administrative Director in personnel activities that may include
interviewing, work allocation, orientation and training, staff
development, problem resolution, evaluating performance (conducts
annual feedbacks), making recommendations for personnel actions,
and motivating employees to achieve peak performance. Is
responsible for their employee's output and conduct.2. Understands
laboratory methods, demonstrates knowledge of laboratory specimen
processes.3. Assures compliance with accrediting agencies;
understands and applies CQI principles; anticipates needs and
develops, implements, and evaluates quality assurance programs,
provides corrective action and documentation.4. Develops and
evaluates laboratory methodologies, procedures and techniques in
the area of specimen procurement.5. Acts as a resource to
customers, both within the department and outside the department,
on procedures, and laboratory operations, safety and training.
Functions as laboratory liaison and contact person in the absence
of other management personnel.6. Oversees ordering, add-ons,
patient care, maintenance and utilization of department equipment,
supplies, and inventories.Additional Job Functions1. Manages
special projects to include developing a plan, coordinating
necessary resources, setting project timelines, keeping Manager
informed of progress, and completing project within established
time limits.2. Develops, implements, evaluates programs for
section/department orientation, competency and training; validates
competency of co-workers or subordinates.3. Attends Leadership
Skills courses; puts new knowledge, understanding, or skill to
practical use on the job; furthers learning by using newly acquired
knowledge or skills to use on a consistent basis.4. Supports the
mission and vision of the Memorial Health University Health System
and demonstrates excellent customer service at all times.5.
Understands and is committed to helping the Memorial Health
University Health System and its associated facilities achieve its
goals under the MHUHS Financial Performance Plan.6. Must learn,
comply with, and enforce System and facility safety policies and
rules; must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all
times; must report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be
familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials
encompassed by job duties.7. Adheres to the MHUHS Code of Conduct
and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients,
colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation
to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws,
rules regulations or the Code of Conduct itself.8. Completes other
