Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele
experience - Successful completion of at least 1 travel contract -
Ability to titrate drips - Experience with common titratable and/or
set rate drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone) - Ability to
interpret rhythms Description: This position is for a
Medical/Telemetry unit. Candidates must have experience in a
hospital of similar size and acuity. Nurse to patient ratios are
typically 1:4, sometimes 1:5. There are nurse aids available with
ratios of 1:10. Respiratory equipment such as nasal cannulas,
BiPap, and High Flow NC is utilized; there are no vents. Monitor
Techs are present on this unit, and RNs are expected to interpret
rhythms. Self-scheduling is allowed, but shifts may be adjusted
according to staffing needs. Every other weekend and holiday
requirements are in place unless approved time off is granted.
There is no call or standby requirement. Floating to a
Neurosurgical PCU may occur, but is rare. Navy scrubs are the
designated dress code. The charting system used is Meditech.
