Charleston, South Carolina, 29425! Job Title: Pediatric Critical
Care Float Pool Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty:
Pediatric Critical Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per
Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in
Pediatric ICU License: Valid South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact
State RN License Certifications: BLS, PALS (must be from the
American Heart Association) Must-Have: Experience in ECMO and CRRT
is preferred. Willingness to float between multiple pediatric
units. Availability to work every other weekend and rotate
holidays. Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3.
Description: The Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Nurse will
provide care in various pediatric critical care settings. This
position requires rounding in multiple pediatric departments as
needed. Candidates should possess the necessary skills to care for
ventilated patients and manage acute airways. The nurse will be
responsible for administering IV vasopressors and managing
dysrhythmias. Pediatric dosage calculations and PICC line
management experience are essential. The role includes monitoring
and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs). The nurse should also
be capable of maintaining and assisting with chest tubes. Isolation
precautions and knowledge of anti-seizure medications are necessary
for this position. The Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Nurse
will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient
care. All responsibilities must be executed with a focus on patient
safety and quality care. This role requires adaptability and a
commitment to floating in response to the facility’s needs. 5
