Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Currently
licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state or holds a current
compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized
NCSBN Compact State. Certifications: Must have a current American
Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card. Must-Have:
Ability to scrub and circulate. Description: To provide nursing
care for patients following established standards and practices in
accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. To apply professional
nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and
evaluate patient care. Constant interaction with internal and
external customers includes patients, families, physicians,
employees, and visitors. Perform patient assessments reflecting
physical, psychological, socio-cultural, spiritual, cognitive
needs, and functional abilities through systematic collection and
review of patient-specific data and communicate assessments
appropriately. Plan and prioritize care based on the assessment,
evaluate patient progress, and revise care to attain expected
outcomes. Include patient/family in planning care and evaluating
programs and outcomes. Demonstrate clinical competencies in the
specific area of practice as described in departmental performance
standards. Assess patient/family learning needs, plan and provide
education, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching in achieving
desired outcomes. Identify and respond appropriately to ethical
issues in patient care. Provide nursing care in a non-judgmental
manner that respects patient diversity and acknowledges patient
rights. Serve as a resource to others in addressing ethical
dilemmas in patient care. Initiate collaborative dialogue with
physicians and coordinate multidisciplinary activities to plan,
deliver, and evaluate patient care. Act as a patient advocate.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, core measures,
patient safety, and quality initiatives to achieve optimal clinical
and organizational outcomes. Perform other duties and
responsibilities as required. The position requires frequent
standing, walking, bending, crouching, and stooping. Frequent
lifting/moving of patients is also required. Intermittent lifting,
moving, or carrying, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs is necessary.
Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity and constant reaching with
hands/arms is expected. Frequent talking or hearing with corrected
hearing and vision to normal range is necessary. Exposure to blood,
body fluids, or tissues may occur. Possible exposure to infectious
materials and communicable diseases is common in a healthcare
environment. There may be intermittent exposure to the risk of
exposure to blood-borne pathogens. The work environment has a
moderate noise level. This role requires work under stressful
conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours. Call and/or
weekend/holiday work may be required based on departmental needs.
For positions providing direct patient care with a nursing
assessment requirement, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is
preferred or required within five years of hire date. Current RN
teammates transferring to another RN position in the same
department will not be required to complete the BSN within five
years of the transfer date. Current RN teammates transferring to
another RN position in a different department will be required to
complete the BSN within five years of the transfer date. Graduate
of an accredited school or college of nursing is required. 5
