A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced RN skilled in Stepdown nursing, providing critical care in a neuroscience unit. This contract position is set in a leading Level I Trauma and Magnet teaching hospital, known for delivering exceptional patient care and advanced medical treatments. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Valid South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN License required At least 1 year of experience in PCU/Stepdown nursing Certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS, and NIH preferred First-time stepdown nurses are welcome to apply Ability to float within clinical scope to support facility needs Location:Based in North Charleston, SC, this facility serves as a major healthcare hub in the region. It combines cutting-edge technology and expert medical teams to deliver comprehensive care. The area offers a vibrant community with coastal living and accessible urban amenities. Responsibilities: Provide patient-centered care on the neuroscience Progressive Care Unit (9E PCU) Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:4, varying with patient acuity Administer treatments and monitor post-neurosurgical patients during night shifts Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Adhere strictly to facility attendance and scheduling policies, including weekend shifts and holiday coverage as needed Schedule: Night shifts: 3x12 hours (7:00 PM 7:30 AM) Weekend requirement: 4-5 weekend shifts per 4-week period No on-call responsibilities Additional Information: Parking available with a permit through the hospitals parking management office Hospital uses EPIC for electronic charting Attendance policy applies equally to travelers and permanent staff Travelers may be asked to support emergency response efforts during hurricane season (June-November) This contract role offers a chance to enhance nursing expertise in an advanced care setting with supportive scheduling flexibility pending manager approval.
