Registered Nurse (RN) | Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Location: Charleston, SC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,840 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PICU RN in Charleston, South Carolina, 29425! Job Title: PICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating, Primarily Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of PICU experience required License: SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required Certifications: BLS, PALS (AHA accepted) required Must-Have: ECMO and CRRT experience preferred Description: The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is a 28-bed unit providing intensive and intermediate care to children ages 0-18. The unit cares for patients with a blend of medical and surgical diagnoses. Common diagnoses include respiratory compromise, trauma, and post-operative surgical patients requiring immediate intensive care support. The unit also cares for patients with neurology and neurosurgery needs. Additional services provided include ECMO, CRRT, renal or peritoneal dialysis, and complex supportive therapies. Pediatric palliative care is available as needed. The staffing mix includes Registered Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and Unit Secretaries. Supportive services available include Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pediatric Pharmacists. Nurse-to-patient ratios may vary as the unit serves both ICU and stepdown patients. The pediatric unit is a level I trauma center and a teaching facility. It handles a daily census of about 23 patients. The unit is well-equipped to manage various pediatric critical care situations, including trauma, respiratory, and neurological issues. Special procedures are conducted by trained ECMO and CRRT teams. All applicants must be able to float within their scope to meet facility needs.
