Discover why Charleston is one of the most sought-after destinations for healthcare professionals, with its historic charm, vibrant culture, and coastal lifestyle./n /n/nCharleston Nursing Job Details/n /n - Location: Charleston, SC (29407) – South Carolina healthcare jobs/n - Estimated Weekly Pay: $1530-$1570/n - Assignment Length: 13-week travel RN contract (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/6/2026)/n - Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM), Monday through Thursday/n - Hours per Week: 36/n - Weekends & Holidays: No weekends or holidays required/n - Unit: Six-bay, 23-hour observation unit within a surgery center PACU/n - Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks/n /n/nRegistered Nurse Qualifications/n /n - Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license (license in hand preferred; pending considered with proof of application)/n - Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in cardiac stepdown, observation, or surgical short stay units (2 years preferred)/n - BLS and ACLS certifications required/n - Strong clinical skills in airway assessment, IV initiation and maintenance, medication reconciliation, phlebotomy, conscious sedation, and pre/post-op care/n - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment/n - Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)/n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities/n /n - Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a 23-hour observation unit, including pre- and post-operative care/n - Monitor, assess, and document patient status and progress in accordance with clinical protocols/n - Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff to ensure safe and effective patient care/n - Administer medications, perform IV therapy, and provide conscious sedation as needed/n - Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3 (max 1:6) alongside a team of RNs and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)/n - Float to other observation units as needed or be called off if census is low/n - Ensure compliance with all facility policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations/n /n/n /n Take the next step in your nursing career with this rewarding Charleston travel nursing job.
