shine on the Island of Much More! Job Duties & Responsibilities :
Receives and understands food orders from the dining room and/or
the manager on duty Assists the other assigned personnel in the
preparation of the requested food and coordinate the orders for
pick-up by the service staff Prepares orders according to standard
recipes in a proper, professional, and timely manner Maintains the
cleanliness of the workstations, kitchen area, walk-in coolers, and
freezers Assures the production of the best quality possible in a
proper sanitary and professional manner Maintains the inventory of
the workstations Controls waste by monitoring proper rotation,
storage and over production Completes food safety program within 30
days of hire Inform the Club Chef or Sous Chef on duty of any
problems they may encounter during the shift Assists in providing
breaks for other associates working the line, as necessary when
advised Minimum Qualifications: Be a High School graduate or
equivalent with an eligible starting age no less than 16 years Be
an ACF student member for the duration of the apprenticeship A
minimum of one (1) years’ experience in food production is ideal
Must have basic knowledge of food production, as well as be
familiar with standard food recipes Understand demands of
apprenticeship program, including work process and related
instruction requirements Fulfill obligation to The Landings Golf &
Athletic Club and supervising Chef Ability to attend all related
instruction courses to include preparation for ACF exam Ability to
maintain regular communication with the program coordinator
Maintain and complete the skills gallery Must be able to understand
and follow verbal/written instructions Must be able to use tact and
understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service
problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations Must
have the ability to manage a diverse workload, prioritize, and
delegate in a fast-paced environment Must be highly organized and
able to manage multiple tasks and to deploy resources effectively
Physical Requirements: Lifting, carrying, or moving from 1 pound up
to 50 pounds for 50% of shift Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping,
and upward reaching for 85% of shift
