Job Description:
The Log Yard Utility Person at Weyerhaeuser Company plays a
crucial role in our operations, handling various tasks related to
the storage, sorting, and transportation of timber within our log
yard facilities. This position requires a dedication to safety and
efficiency, contributing to our status as a leader in sustainable
timberland management. As a member of our skilled labor team, you
will work in a dynamic outdoor setting, collaborating with other
team members to ensure the smooth flow of materials necessary for
our manufacturing processes. Operate and maintain heavy machinery
such as forklifts, front loaders, and other log handling equipment.
Inspect and sort logs based on size, quality, and type to meet
production requirements. Maintain accurate inventory of logs and
other materials in the yard. Ensure compliance with safety
standards and company policies at all times. Collaborate with other
team members to optimize yard organization and space utilization.
Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment and tools. Assist
in loading and unloading timber products and supplies from trucks
and other transport vehicles. Ability to operate log-handling
equipment such as forklifts and loaders. Strong organizational and
inventory management skills. Excellent physical stamina and ability
to work in various weather conditions. Good communication and
teamwork abilities. Basic maintenance skills for handling and
repairing equipment. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance 401k Forklift or heavy machinery operation certification
preferred. First Aid and CPR certifications are advantageous.
