Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nursery Registered Nurse will provide professional and direct nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process, collaborating with other members of the health care nursery team, including physicians, to assure quality health care. The RN assumes the responsibility for patient assessments, patient education, administration of medications as ordered by physician, via oral, IM, SQ, or IV route. 

What you will do in this role:

• Provides for patient comfort, safety, respect, and confidentiality
•  Demonstrates effective therapeutic communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal with patients, caregivers, and family members 
• Receives and assesses patient ensuring appropriate level of care as determined by their needs. Completes documentation requirements in a timely manner in accordance with program standards. 
• Utilizes data obtained from the nursing assessment and formulates a plan of treatment with other members of the multi-disciplinary team based on the patients needs.
•  Assesses, plans, implements & evaluates nursing care provided. Re-prioritizes care plans every 24 hours & prn 
• Incorporates the physicians orders into the treatment plan and interprets them to the non-professional staff providing care to the patient. 
• Performs treatment interventions requiring a physicians order and nursing licensure implementation, (i.e., medication administration) 
• Accepts and communicates verbal, electronic, and written physician orders to program staff, families, and appropriate agencies involved in the patients total care spectrum. 
• Engages in timely efficient discharge planning, assuring the transition of patients to the appropriate level of care as determined by the patients needs. Completes documentation requirements in a timely manner in accordance with program standards 
• Maintains responsibility for supervision of duties performed by non-licensed staff.
• Maintains license/certifications requirements 
• Attends and participates in mandatory in-services and compliance requirements 
• Reports for scheduled shift on time in proper uniform or attire according to Dress Code Policy 

What qualifications you will need:

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross - BLS and NRP 
• Minimum of 1-year experience required
