Your role at Tumi: Benefits Administrator This job is responsible for administering and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, voluntary benefits, flexible spending plan, etc.). This position provides excellent customer service to employees to administer a quality benefits plan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Benefits Administrator

  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files and maintain group benefits database
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.
  • Audit the accuracy of billing for newly enrolled and newly terminated.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
  • Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to group benefits associates.
  • Work with carrier to ensure ACA information is updated and completed annually for 1095 forms.
  • Maintain and administer the Samsonite Pension and Life Claims
  • Maintain and communicate the Company's Wellness Program.
  • Administer the Company's Tuition Reimbursement Program. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ---Confidentiality is a must and should be maintained at all times. ---Is knowledgeable of typical policies and procedures regarding benefit allocation. ---Is able to present information to a wide variety of audiences. ---Possesses strong interpersonal and organizational skills. ---Demonstrates effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing. ---Is detail oriented with the ability to meet schedules and honor deadlines. Education and Experience To be eligible for this position, must have an Associate's Degree or at least 2-4 years' experience in a benefits position . Experience in human resources prior to this entry-level position is not necessary, though some familiarity is beneficial. Would like someone with knowledge of ACA requirements. Work Environment A work week in this field is typically 40 hours, Monday through Friday, in an indoor, corporate setting. May be requested to work overtime during evenings, though this is unusual. The majority of the time will be spent sitting behind a desk, filing paperwork and conferencing with employees.
