Job Description:

Corporate Counsel who supports General Counsel in handling company legal matters with focus on labor, employment, benefits, immigration and workplace safety laws. Coordinates with other Legal & Compliance Team Members to accomplish departmental objectives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Advise company on day-to-day employment law issues to ensure company complies with various labor, employment, benefits, immigration, and workplace safety laws (including NLRA, Title VII, Section 1981, FMLA, ADA, ADEA, ERISA, and OSHA). * Advise company on medical leave issues and workers' compensation matters.* Advise company on termination of employment matters, including advising company of legal risks.* Advise HR on handling unemployment compensation claims.* Assist the company with drafting various employment policies and procedures.* Handle investigations, audits, and trainings in the areas of labor, employment, benefits, immigration, and workplace safety laws.* Research legal issues relating to labor, employment, benefits, immigration, and workplace safety laws. * Draft memoranda to General Counsel, executives, and Team Members on various legal topics. * Track and report any developments in labor, employment, benefits, immigration, and workplace safety laws. * Independently handle a variety of litigation, arbitration, and mediation matters for the company (with emphasis on employment litigation and workers' compensation cases).* Oversee handling of garnishments, service of process, and subpoena responses.* Always display exemplary ethical behavior, including: (1) being free of undue influence and conflicts of interest; (2) strictly complying with company policies and procedures; (3) being honest, transparent, and accountable; (4) report all known illegal or unethical behavior; and (5) protecting confidential information.* Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.* Perform all other duties as assigned by the General Counsel. * Qualifications & Preferences: Required:* Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA-accredited Law School.* A minimum of 10 years of job related experience.* 6 - 8 years experience with concentration in labor and employment law. Minimum Experience: 120 Months Special Requirements: Applicant Must -have a Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA-accredited Law School. Applicant Must -have at least 10 years of job related experience.
