We are currently seeking Transmission Work Planners to join our

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Inspect circuits over potentially rough terrain to identify tree,
brush, or herbicide maintenance for required line clearance
standards on transmission rights of ways.
Cut vines and perform stump treatment to structures and fence rows
by applying herbicide or brush treatment to prevent regrowth.
Document required right of way maintenance within work management
software platforms.
Understand, interpret, and explain work specifications and unit
expectations to tree contractors.
Estimate time to perform prescribed work.
Record site conditions, adverse work challenges, property dynamics
or customer concerns within work management software program.
Meet with customers to discuss work, outline process, document
permission and resolve any concerns or complaints.
Discuss work and address any questions with tree contractors,
customers and ROW Coordinator.
Assigns units and reworks to tree contractors and communicates
completion at contractors' own expense.
Investigates tree outages and provides post outage reports.
Work with internal customers (Gas, Construction, Distribution) to
assist with any requested work.
Reviews timesheets, approve invoices, and track circuit
progress.
Perform safety audits on tree contractors and provide results to
ROW Coordinator.
Practices and promotes safety in all aspects of the job.
Pass annual Safety Passport and CPR trainings.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
Two- or four-year degree in Forestry or 2-year degree in
utility/forestry relevant field.
Currently hold or ability to obtain Herbicide license within 6
months.
Currently hold or ability to obtain ISA Arborist Certification
within one year.
Advanced oral communications skills.
Ability to deal with difficult customers in person.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Basic computer skills
WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:
Vegetation management experience preferred.
Being Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Working Environment
Work alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol
of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city
environment; physical demands and travel from site to site,
including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry,
wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes;
exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and
temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions.

Physical
The team member must have sufficient physical ability and mobility
to work in a field environment; to walk up to 10 miles per day,
stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of
time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb,
reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand, arm and shoulder
movement in the performance of daily duties (e.g., forcefully beat
down brush); carry, push and/or pull light to heavy amounts of
weight, frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to
60 lbs. (sandbags); to operate assigned equipment and vehicles;
ability to verbally communicate to exchange information with
public; ability to see and hear in normal range with or without
correction; operate assigned field equipment, including handheld
computer, range finder, fyrake, water backpack, shovel, and traffic
cone.
