Job Description:
PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for the daily
safe and efficient operation of a fuel tanker and responsible to
fuel school buses as scheduled. REPORTS TO: Transportation Fleet
Coordinator SALARY SCHEDULE: G-8 WORK DAYS: 250 REQUIREMENTS:
Education Level: High School diploma or GED Experience, Skill, and
Certification: One (1) year of mechanical experience in automotive
or related repair/service field. Thorough knowledge and experience
in general fleet maintenance procedures Ability to operate power,
hydraulic and electric equipment Ability to communicate
effectively, both orally and in writing Excellent record keeping
skills Commercial Driver's License with all appropriate/required
endorsements for operating a fuel tanker and school bus within 60
days of employment Valid Georgia Driver's License ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Fuel school buses from a tanker Maintain fueling schedule as issued
by supervisor Accurately record fuel quantities by vehicle fueled
Perform general service maintenance for school buses and shop
equipment, including maintaining grease, oil and fluid levels
Change tires as required Assist with the inspection, general
repair, and annual repair, as well as preventative maintenance for
the fleet Perform all job functions in compliance with weather,
safety and environmental policies and procedures Use all personal
protective equipment as instructed Perform related duties as
required TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Incumbents will be considered "at
will." Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade as
determined by Human Resources and allowable experience. The work
calendar will be 250 days. Non-Exempt (G-8) Public School Employees

vehicles. Must be able to move objects 125 pounds over a distance
